The 1 California bus will see more frequent service to support its ridership. Changes to Muni service will go into effect starting Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026. The goal is to make systemwide improvements in frequency and reliability and allow for smoother operations on several routes across San Francisco. We are also working to increase capacity to address crowding in a cost-neutral manner. These updates are based on rider feedback, operator input and service data.
